For networked computer quintet utilizing SMS-technology for audience participation

The people in the audience are encouraged to use their cellphones to send short messages (sms) to a laptop-ensemble connected via quintet.net, a software by Georg Hajdu. The incoming text-messages, which may contain comments, questions or any other form of urban poetry, are used as input for idiosyncratic processes of computer translation: They are transcribed into score data for the performers, drive speech-synthesis algorithms and are transformed into video projections. The performers respond to the audiences contributions and by this generate an interactive situation of direkt communication in the concert hall.
